About Us
Pardus Defence & Security Ltd was founded in 2016 by Rob O’Connor to provide specialist consultancy services to global industry customers wishing to do business with the UK military and emergency services.
From his experience as the Commanding Officer of the British Army’s Infantry Trials and Development Unit (ITDU) Rob recognised that companies need advice and assistance in their dealings with the UK MoD. With a wealth of experience and a network of connections, Pardus Defence & Security is able to help companies understand the context of the MoD’s requirements but also to demonstrate innovative products to the MoD and help shape the MoD’s future thinking.

Military Expertise
Pardus Defence & Security Ltd was founded by Rob O’Connor.
Rob served as an infantry officer in the British Army for 26 years in light, mechanised and armoured units as well as staff appointments in Brigade and Divisional Headquarters. He has over six years of operational experience from conflicts around the world.
Rob is a former instructor at the Joint Services Command and Staff College and chief instructor of the Infantry Wing at the Reconnaissance and Armoured Tactics Division.
Experience in Defence Acquisition
Rob has held a variety of defence acquisition appointments including the Ministry of Defence Head Office, Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) and, prior to his retirement from the Army he commanded the Infantry Trials and Development Unit (ITDU).
As the desk officer in the Directorate of Equipment Capability – Ground Manoeuvre, he led the team which brought Javelin into service with the British Army.
Rob led the Niteworks research into the noise induced hearing loss associated to the 60mm and 81mm mortars.

Rob is a regular contributor on the defence conference circuit and has spoken at or chaired elements of the Future Soldier Technology Conference, the Mortar Conference, the Close Combat Symposium and Defence Vehicle Dynamics.
